We recently had the honour of hosting the Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), Dr. Olajide Idris, alongside his Chief of Staff, Dr. Demola Onakomaiya, at our laboratory and head office in Abuja.
The visit provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions on IFAIN’s strategic positioning and how we can effectively partner with the NCDC in delivering on key aspects of its national public health mandate. Conversations focused on collaboration in infectious disease research, surveillance, data generation, and evidence-based public health action.
A key outcome of the engagement is the ongoing development of a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement will enable IFAIN as a premier non-governmental research and surveillance institution on infectious diseases, to provide structured and direct technical support to the NCDC.
IFAIN is focused on collaborative actions in infectious disease prevention and control.
